Sri Lanka 2024

Leopards & Blue Whales + Endemic Mammals & Birds

January 23 – February 4, 2024

EcoQuest Travel is proud to offer an incredible journey to this exotic island nation. Sri Lanka is a tapestry of diversity both culturally and biologically. It is certainly influenced by its larger neighbor to the north, but in other ways Sri Lanka is quite different from India. Sri Lankas has its own unique history and architecture with ancient temples tucked into remote hillsides and thick jungles. Similar to India, Sri Lanka has an incredible array of national parks. Within these parks are a spectacular variety of animals, many found nowhere else on earth. We will begin in Columbo before traveling to the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura. From Anuradhapura we will visit the vast Wilpattu National Park before we work our way south visiting a series of Sri Lanka’s best national Parks and reserves including the forests surrounding the rock fortress of Sigiriya; the high hills of Nuwara Eliya; the grasslands of Horton Plains NP; the elephant-dominated wetlands of Udawalawe NP; the rainforests of Sinharaja Reserve; and finally the coastal town of Marissa where we will ply the Indian Ocean in search of the world’s largest living creature the Blue Whale. EcoQuest Travel invites you to join us on our wildlife safari to Sri Lanka. Come explore the national parks, cultural sites, diversity and endemism that makes this island so special.
