If you are interested in Cambodia as a destination, or for a more detailed itinerary, please contact EcoQuest Travel by email at: info@ecoquesttravel.net. CAMBODIA

Rare Birds & Ancient Temples

EcoQuest Travel, Inc. is proud to offer an exciting trip to the mystical land of Cambodia. Cambodia offers a unique blend of rich cultural history and exquisite natural beauty. This is a land which overloads the senses with ancient temples, floating villages, exotic dances, atmospheric markets, a seemingly endless patchwork of rice paddies, huge rivers and lakes, incredible forests and, in the far north of the country, wild places that hold some of the rarest wildlife in the world. Join us as we watch the sunrise over the fantastic, awe inspiring temples of Angkor Watt. We will explore the rural beauty of Ang Trapeang Thmor to search for Sarus Cranes and endangered Eld’s Deer. We will boat through floating villages to Prek Toal on Tonle Sap Lake to find Spot-billed Pelicans, Milky and Greater Adjutant Storks and Black-headed Ibis. The middle portion of trip will find us searching for birds and other wildlife in Northern Cambodian Plains. This area is one of the most important conservation priorities and contains an incredible number of rare mammals including Asian Elephant, Gaur and Pileated Gibbon. It also holds some of the world’s most endangered birds including White-shouldered Ibis, Bengal Florican, White-rumped Falcon, White-winged Duck, all three SE Asian vulture species and the near mythical Giant Ibis. Once we depart the northern plains we will travel south to the Mekong River to watch Irrawaddy River Dolphins frolic before heading to the capital of Phnom Penh. We invite you to join us as we discover the wondrous cultural sites, rare wildlife and stunning beauty of the ancient land of Cambodia.
