We have chosen colors that are appropriate for field conditions and quality products that have proven tough, comfortable and durable enough to withstand traveling and the variety of conditions found in nature.

Hats and Caps
EcoQuest Travel provides several hat options all of which have been chosen for practicality in the field. Most include enhanced sun protection with wide-brims or attached neck covers. For warmer climates some offer venting to keep cool and for trips to colder regions there is a protective beanie to help prevent heat loss.

Fleece
Fleece provides an important insulating layer whether it’s used as your outermost layer or whether it is worn as a middle layer. We offer a great fleece by Marmot which can serve as your only outmost layer when it’s not too cold, or as a middle layer in colder climates. This fleece comes in three colors and in both mens and womens styles. We also offer an excellent unisex middle-weight North Face fleece for harsher conditions.

Daypacks
We always recommend bringing a daypack along for the items you need each day in the field like your binoculars, camera, field guides, sun screen water bottles etc. Daypacks are generally much smaller than backpacks and do not usually have the internal or external frames that backpacks have to aid in carrying heavier loads. Without the rigid frames daypacks are much easier to pack for a trip. Daypacks really take a lot of abuse during a trip and having a quality daypack along that withstands the rigors of the field is essential. We really like the toughness of the North Face daypack we offer!

Winter Jackets
For trips which visit colder climates, or for our winter trips, we offer two different styles of insulated jackets. Both of these jackets are designed to keep you warm as your outermost layer.

Rain Jackets
Staying dry is often a challenge in the field, but is of utmost importance for warmth and comfort. Nothing is worse than getting wet and cold on a trip! We have chosen lightweight rain jackets by Marmot because they are breathable in warmer weather and with a fleece layer underneath in cooler climates will keep you warm and dry. These jackets are available in both mens and womens styles.

Safari Shirts
Safari style fishing shirts are a great option for the field. They are lightweight, breathable, practical and comfortable. They can also be dressed up for dinners in restaurants or dressed down for hikes in field. One of their greatest features is they dry quickly. We have chosen six unisex shirts by Eddie Bauer – three short-sleeved options and three long-sleeved options.

Polo Shirts
Polo shirts are also a great choice for traveling. We have chosen three short-sleeved and two long-sleeved options.

T-Shirts and Sweatshirts
T-shirts are often the “go to” shirts for most trips. We have taken the t-shirt to the next level here by providing two options that help with comfort in the field. We offer insect-shield t-shirts in five colors that have safe insect repellents impregnated into the fabric. They can be washed and still retain their insect shield capabilities. We also offer moisture-wicking t-shirts in three colors which really help keep you dry even in the humid tropics. We also offer moisture-wicking sweatshirts in two colors.

*NOTE* For those of you going on safari to Africa with us, please avoid the black and navy shirts as they attract tsetse flies.
